Chrome Kiosk App

If your district or organization uses Chrome Kiosk Apps, we have a SmartSign extension made just for you. Please follow this link in order to add it to your kiosk if you haven’t done so already.

Connect Your Devices to their Signs

Instead of entering credentials for your signs via options upon start up, we’re going to register your devices within MyVideoSpot so that when your kiosk app starts, it will automatically find the sign meant to be displayed. Follow the steps below to set that up.

  1. Login to your Google Administration account.
  2. Navigate to Device > Chrome > Devices
  3. Select the device that will be displaying a sign and locate the Directory API ID. This is normally a 32 character length jumble of letters and numbers with hyphens.

  1. Once you’ve found your device’s ID, navigate to your list of SmartSigns by going to your Administrator Tools within MyVideoSpot and selecting Manage Signs.
  2. Select your sign from the list that you’d like to associate with your device.
  3. Directly under the title of your sign, there is a list of action buttons. Select the Kiosk Device Id button.

Info

If you have multiple devices displaying one sign, you can repeat step 7 until all have been added.

  1. Start your device and it should now automatically connect and start displaying your sign. Success!
