Dream big, set goals, and take action! Whether you’re a teacher, principal, communications professional, or even a student, MyVRSpot has some great tools to help you reach your goals.
Reaching Your Goals Using Video Analytics Studies show that measurable elements help you actually reach your goals. For example, you may want to increase the number of students who watch your videos for homework, or increase your parent involvement by engaging them with videos posted to social media. You can work towards your goals by using hard data. In many cases you can see who watched your videos, combined with analytics for when the media was watched, for how long, and where each viewer paused or skipped around in your videos. All of this data is available through MyVRSpot’s video analytics.
A Student’s Space Dreams The sky is not the limit for Bryce Hilliard, a 9th grader from Loudoun County School, Virginia. He is the CEO of Space Dreamers, a not-for-profit that was created for space education. This October, Bryce will assist with a Question and Answer session with an astronaut on the International Space Station. The event will be held at Loudoun County Schools and will be broadcast live via MyVRSpot. Follow us on Twitter for the date and time of the live broadcast. We would love to have you and/or your students join in the event.
e-Portfolios for Parent-Teacher Conference Not only are Folders a great way to stay organized, they’re also great for creating and sharing e-portfolios! This month, start preparing for parent-teacher conferences. Have your students create an e-portfolio filled with their own multimedia projects, videos, written work and images, and share them with their parents/guardians during their parent-teacher conference.
Track Student Progress Using Video Improvement is one of the sweetest feelings. Give this gift to your students by helping them track their progress using the built-in Recorder tool. Simply video tape the student at the beginning of a semester to create a baseline, whether in reading a chapter in a book, playing an instrument, speaking a foreign language, etc. Then at the end of the semester, record another video of the student doing the exact same task. Share the videos with your student and watch the look on their face when they can see the progress first hand. Quick Tip: Create a MediaSpot project, laying out the students videos side by side. Add your own comments in a text field, and then share the project with the students’ parents. Often we forget how important it is for parents to see the wonderful progress their students are making.
Live Streaming Game-Changer Game-changer! While we have always provided an easy way to share all of your Live Broadcast recordings to a webpage via our Video Showcase tool, we have taken the ease of this to a whole new level. You can now setup your Video Showcase to automatically add all recorded streams from any of your streaming channels, thus creating an on-demand solution for parents and other community members. If your districts also subscribes to our Closed Captioning solution, you can now also auto-create closed caption files for all of your captured live broadcasts.
