-> While listening to Total Eclipse of the Heart, found a Bonnie Tyler version of Straight from the Heart.  After some digging I was able to confirm that Bryan Adams did indeed write the song.  I would have been crushed if he did not write the song.  I can now resume not caring about Bonnie Tyler until 2024.
